This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 77: March 18, 2015
Diary entry:
People often ask what I do at work. They joke that all I do is go to meetings and answer emails. Oh how wrong they are!
Today…I answered emails and went to meetings! See, I reversed the order! Truly productive day.
In my defense, I also made some PowerPoint presentations.
In between meetings.
Which I then sent as an answer to an email.
*sigh*
The Beer:
Name: 312 Urban Wheat Ale
Style: American Pale Wheat Ale
Producer: Goose Island Beer Co.
Alcohol content: 4.2%
Bottle size: 0.355l
Purchased from: Albert Heijn in Boxtel, Netherlands
Tonight’s beer is 312 Urban Wheat Ale from Goose Island Beer Co. One of the new craft beer offerings popping up on grocery shelves across the Netherlands this week. An ok wheat beer, but hard to compare to some of the great German offerings it shares shelf space with. I do have a bit of a cold though, so will likely try it again when I’m feeling better, just to be fair.
Commercial Description:
Inspired by the city of Chicago and densely populated with flavor, 312’s spicy aroma of Cascade hops is followed by a crisp, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body that’s immensely refreshing.
