31-Mar-2015 : 4D Ilan by Kolding Bryglaug. Collaboration between 4D and Kolding Bryglaug. The first beer from American Brewer '4th Dimension'. Soured through a whole year and blended with both a barrel-aged version and a version matured on Venezuelan rum. Soft, funky, tart and oaky dry. No carbonation, but very flavorful. You get the drying and the rum flavors on the aftertaste. #ottbeerdiary

28-Mar-2015 : Poorter by Witte Klavervier. Aroma and taste of barrel aging, but not the barrel aged offering. Bitterness on the palate, much more than expected. Overpowers the dark. #ottbeerdiary

27-Mar-2015 : Rodenbach Caractère Rouge by Brouwerij Rodenbach. The exclusive RODENBACH Caractère Rouge, with an alcohol content of 7%, is the result of a 6-month maceration with fresh fruit (sour cherries, raspberries and cranberries) of a beer which matured in oak casks for 2 years. After its maceration, the beer is re-fermented in the bottle. RODENBACH Caractère Rouge is vinous with a very complex, fruity nose of raspberry and cherry combined with notes of wood and caramel. The undertone consists of an aroma of violets, leather and a hint of tobacco. Flavourwise this fruit beer has rather sour taste, but of an exceptionally pure nature. Its light, residual sugars balance out the triangle of sour, sweet and dry flavours. This dryness mainly stems from the cranberries, which lend the beer an exceptionally long and pure aftertaste. "This beer evokes the unique combinationof delicacy and power of a fresh Burgundy wine." RODENBACH Caractère Rouge can be enjoyed as an appetiser and pairs extremely well with crayfish, goose liver, beef, saddle of hare, venison, chocolate, pastry, red berries, and blue cheese. #ottbeerdiary

26-Mar-2015 : Durboyse Brune by Brasserie Lefebvre. A basic Belgian Bruin. Nothing special. Not too sweet. But not much other flavor either. #ottbeerdiary

23-Mar-2015 : Frisse Lentebok by Koninklijke Grolsch. Sweet aroma, and a bitter flavor. But not quite the type of hoppy bitter I prefer. #ottbeerdiary

22-Mar-2015 : Scratch 98 - Triple Mango IPA by Tröegs Brewing Company. 11.3% ABV and 125 IBUs, this beer is warming and bitter. And the mango really lingers in the aftertaste. A very well done beer. Just be sure to keep some motion in the glass before you sip, as the mango sediment will settle leaving you with pure IPA to drink and all the sediment left in the glass, which would be a pity, as they go so well together! #ottbeerdiary

21-Mar-2015 : Today's beer is the Ratsherrn Pale Ale from Hamburg, Germany. Golden color with a hoppy, malty aroma. Fruity, hoppy bitterness with as little sweet malt in the flavor. #ottbeerdiary

20-Mar-2015 : Tonight's beer is Galbert Van Brugge by 't Brugs Bierinstituut. A Flemish red-brown ale produced at De Proefbrouwerij. Aged eight months in French oak barrels. You definitely get the barrel notes in the flavor. Not very sour, but very enjoyable. Named after an important historical figure of Brugge, as one of the first journalists to appear, as he covered the events surrounding the murder of Charles the Good in 1127. #ottbeerdiary
