This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 78: March 19, 2015
Diary entry:
A very normal day at work with, you got it, lots of meetings. At least it’s keeping me very busy.
End of the day was a bit more bittersweet, as we had a goodbye drink for a colleague who was pretty instrumental in many of my projects. It’s sad to see him go, but it’s good to see people having the courage to make the leap to better things when they realize they need to make a change in their situation.
After that, off to my friend Dave’s house for burger night with some other American colleagues out here. Always good to have a night to just sit back, relax, and have a few beers.
The Beer:
Name: 28 Brett (2013)
Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Producer: Caulier
Alcohol content: 7.5%
Bottle size: 0.750l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent
I brought this beer to tonight’s burger dinner, since I wanted to be sure I had at least one new beer tonight. Also brought a few IPA’s from the Albert Heijn for after this one. The 28 Brett 2013 by Caulier is a Bretty pale ale. The taste leaves a sour bitterness, but also a slight sweetness. A decent beer, especially as it sits in the glass a little.
