This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 90: March 31, 2015
Diary entry:
First quarter is DONE! 90 Days! Three months! With at least one new beer every day!
This is actually more difficult than I expected.
I have enough new beers stocked up that I can keep this going for a few more months, it’s just that sometimes, you just want to take a break and not have a beer at night. But I will keep this up…I’m determined to complete this challenge!
The Beer:
Name: 4D Ilan
Style: Sour Ale
Producer: Kolding Bryglaug
Alcohol content: 5.4%
Bottle size: 0.5 l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent
Today’s beer of the day is the 4D Ilan collaboration between 4D and Kolding Bryglaug. “The first beer from American Brewer ‘4th Dimension’. Soured through a whole year and blended with both a barrel-aged version and a version matured on Venezuelan rum. Soft, funky, tart and oaky dry.” No carbonation, but very flavorful. You get the drying and the rum flavors on the aftertaste.
