This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 150: May 30, 2015
Diary entry:
No day tripping. Work day.
Once everyone finally woke up that is.
There’s a big summer project upcoming that Erin and I are helping out with, and we were meeting with the organizer to be clear on our roles and responsibilities. So that took up most of the day.
The Beer:
Name: Abbaye De Lille
Style: Blonde Lager
Producer: Brasserie Castelain
Alcohol content: 6.1%
Bottle size: 0.5l Can
Purchased from: Auchan hypermarket outside of Blois, France
Poured a decent copper color, with a bit of head. Flavor-wise, not much there. It wasn’t too cold, within the recommended temperature range, yet it was only at the end of the can that I started to get some bitterness, otherwise, just fizz.
Commercial Description:
The Lille Abbey is a blonde beer tradition. Brewed from pale malts and hops bitterness and providing valuable pine aromas. It is best to store away from light and taste at a temperature of 8 to 10C.
