This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 15: January 15, 2015
Diary entry:
Where did this day go? First meeting at 8AM. Had a few 30 minute gaps in my agenda, but none of those materialized, not even for lunch. Next thing I knew, 7PM and I needed to head home. Hopefully some clarity on the direction for the next few months tomorrow.
After missing lunch and with little sleep last night due to the 2-3AM chat, just had to head home for a light dinner and tonight’s beer.
The Beer:
Name: Adriaen Brouwer Wintergold 2015
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Producer: Brouwerij Roman
Alcohol content: 10.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent.
Adriaen Brouwer Wintergold 2015, a Winter beer by Brouwerij Roman of Oudenaarde, Belgium. 10% ABV, and you could taste every percentage point, and then some, at the start. The strength didn’t diminish in the glass, but some flavors of fruit, and more sweetness did emerge.
