This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 56: February 25, 2015
Diary entry:
Early morning wake-up to drive up to the airport for my flight to Seattle and Phoenix. No upgrade on the flight to Seattle…bummer! Not a bad flight though. At least I had an aisle in economy comfort still.
A few Bloody Marys in the KLM Crown Lounge, a few glasses of wine on the flight…yet still I couldn’t get any sleep. Hope I feel OK when I get to Phoenix. But just in case, choosing my daily beer now while sitting in the Delta Sky Club in Seattle.
The Beer:
Name: Amber
Style: Altbier
Producer: Alaskan Brewing Co.
Alcohol content: 5.3%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Delta Sky Club at Seattle-Tacoma Airport
Today’s beer of the day (night?) is Alaskan Amber, an Alt style beer from Alaskan Brewing Co. of Juneau, Alaska. This is available (for purchase) at the Delta Sky Club in Seattle. A little sweeter than the last Alt I had in Düsseldorf, but still some bitterness and a decent overall beer. Especially for a layover.
