This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 392: January 27, 2016
Diary entry:
Last day before holiday.
I’ve had this booked since September. It’s been in my agenda. It’s been in the holiday planner. I’ve been mentioning it for weeks.
And yet somehow, all day, people were surprised that I wasn’t going to be there tomorrow or next week!
Sheesh people! C’Mon!
Tomorrow is the first demo for management of the prototype for project one, so today we had the internal run-through. You can tell it was a first run-through of a first demo, but there’s a good foundation, and I was actually pleased with the result.
Of course, I can’t say that to any of them 😀
I do wish I was going to be there for the actual demo tomorrow, but have to hope my stand-ins will be able to answer any questions on my area of responsibility. They should be able to give answers…I just hope they give the answers I would have given. Otherwise, I may have some change management to do when I return.
That’s always the risk of taking vacation.
But you gotta do it!
My flight tomorrow is 10AM from Amsterdam, which means I have to be there by 8, meaning I have to be on the road around 6AM to ensure I don’t get stuck on morning commute traffic. So a 5AM wakeup. With an 11PM #TRAVEX and a 2AM-3AM #FoodTravelChat.
At least I should sleep on the plane!
The Beer:
Name: Alternate World
Style: Dry-Hopped Gose
Producer: Kent Falls Brewing Co.
Alcohol content: 4.6%
Bottle size: 16.9 fl. oz.
Purchased from: Brought to me by a coworker from Danbury, CT.
Alternate World by Kent Falls Brewing Company. A 4.6% ABV Dry-Hopped Gose in a 16.9 FL OZ bottle. Sour, with some citrus and toasty wheat funk and a slightly salty finish. Made with their house brettanomyces strain and souring cultures.
I grew up not far from Kent, CT, where this brewery is located, and actually used to go hiking at Kent Falls with my family. I’ve played in the mountain stream. Swam in the pools of Kent Falls. And now I’m drinking its beer. Sweet!
