This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 201: July 20, 2015
Diary entry:
Quiet morning at work. Had a chance to catch up on some document reviews for later in the week, and some old emails that had to be answered.
I hate having a backlog of emails in my inbox…means either I have something to do, or I’m waiting for someone to do something. I prefer a clean slate.
The afternoon was much more full, but definitely some good sessions.
The Beer:
Name: Averbode
Style: Belgian Blonde
Producer: Brouwerij Huyghe
Alcohol content: 7.5%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Given to me by Ruben from Cafe de Borrel in Boxtel
I actually have a 0.75l bottle of this sitting at home as well that was given to me by my project leader on the project I worked on in San Diego, but hadn’t gotten around to drinking it. After being given also a .33 bottle now, that’s much more suitable for a Monday evening, so seemed like the perfect night.
The Averbode by Brouwerij Huyghe isvery pleasant blonde. Nice balance of fruit and bitterness. I was quite impressed with the flavors and the aroma both. I’m definitely looking forward to the opportunity to crack open the larger bottle one night.
This beer is brewed by Brouwerij Huyghe, the same brewers who brew the Delirium beers.
