This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 190: July 9, 2015
Diary entry:
Today involved a full-day offsite workshop for work. Kinda made me feel good to hear that the only reason this workshop was delayed until today was so I would be back from holiday and be able to attend. Not too often I hear stuff like that.
A good session, and I think we accomplished a bit. Still some work to go though. Big decisions need to be made properly.
The Beer:
Name: Bellerose Bière Blonde Extra
Style: Blonde Ale
Producer: Brasserie des Sources
Alcohol content: 6.5%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Our road trip through France back in May.
A very decent blonde. A nice blend of bitterness and fruitiness. Very well balanced and enjoyable.
Commercial Description:
Bellerose draws its inspiration from the 1950s era, a period during which beer was still intensely hoppy and stoutly refreshing. The use of an innovative cocktail of 3 hops brings to Bellerose a distinctive aroma of citrus & litchi with a refreshing aftertaste.
Top fermented beer using three hops from three different continents. It is a mix between French sweet bière de Garde and innovative IPA, we like to call it: “The French IPA”.
