This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 160: June 9, 2015
Diary entry:
Another early start to the day to be in the office early to do some work before spending the rest of the day in the second day of my two-day offsite training session of configuration management CM II methodology.
A continuation from yesterday, but some good principles were discussed, and I got to show the benefit of actually involving my department in the process, so that was good.
Ran back to the office for another couple of hours after the training so as to not fall too far behind on the ongoing activities, which definitely kept me longer than originally anticipated.
Generally another fairly quiet day. Holiday season is definitely approaching fast here…
The Beer:
Name: Bière Blonde
Style: Blonde Ale
Producer: La Loère
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.25l
Purchased from: A local products shop at Chateau Chambord in the Loire Valley of France.
A very nice, spicy aroma. Almost nutty. Flavor is not there to match. The flavor was a little wheaty, but the mouthfeel was fairly watery. I really do wish this one tasted as good as it smelled.
Commercial Description: (Beer outcome of the EU and non-EU organic by ECOCERT FR-BIO-01)
To provide you with a fine drink, typical of our region ligérienne, we chose to brew our beers with Saint Hippolyte spring water.
Our beer is malt, unfiltered, not pasteurized and secondary fermentation in the bottle.
