This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 114: April 24, 2015
Diary entry:
And…Friday!
Another week in the books!
Had to go into Belgium again this morning for meetings at our office there, which usually wind up being some of the most productive meetings.
Unfortunately, today I couldn’t spend the whole day, as I did have a full slate of afternoon sessions to attend before my weekend, and vacation, could officially start.
Yes…vacation!
No work, at least the day job, for the next three weeks!
One thing about the Netherlands…the end of April and beginning of May are not always the most productive weeks, as we typically have three consecutive weeks of public holidays, with King’s Day and some religious holidays falling during this period. Four days of public holiday falling during three weeks of vacation, so in fact, only two weeks of vacation coming out of my accrued vacation!
Only problem is, I MUST use three weeks or lose the unused portion by the end of June. Luckily I have Blogville in Bologna coming up at the end of June to help me use it up!
The Beer:
Name: Captain Crow Extra Pale Ale
Style: American Pale Ale
Producer: OH! LA! HO Brewery
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.35l can
Purchased from: Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Erin brought it back from her recent visit to Tokyo Disneyland.
Captain Crow Extra Pale Ale by Oh! La! Ho Beer of Nagano, Japan.
Copper color, with a nice head on the pour from the can.
A very hoppy aroma definitely foretelling of the bitterness to come.
And that bitterness did come in the flavor. Citrusy.
I’m enjoying this quite a bit!
