This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 224: August 12, 2015
Diary entry:
Another good Wednesday. Great session in the morning on Project #3, and good progress on the other initiatives I have going on right now.
Plus I made it to the gym after work.
The Beer:
Name: Cárdenas Stout
Style: Stout
Producer: Cervezas Cárdenas
Alcohol content: 3.8%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Duty Free shop in Andorra
Cardenas Stout by Cervezas Cardenas from near Seville, Spain. Guinness in style. A bit more bitterness. Not quite as smooth. Only 3.8% ABV, which does tend to a bit more watery finish.
Commercial Description:
Produced in the British tradition of dark beers but with a twist that makes it unique, because it takes star anise, which enhances the nuance of licorice beer. A unique beer greatly appreciated by those who have tried it, earning criticism even from those who had never tasted a dark beer.
