This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 328: November 24, 2015
Diary entry:
We finished off the first main section of the last week and a half of workshops this morning. I must say, I’m impressed with how much we accomplished. Get the right people in the room for a week, and you just may get stuff done!
An offsite in the afternoon, followed by one final alignment session, and in the end, a productive day.
As I was finishing up to leave, got an emergency request from a co-worker who didn’t have as good a day to join him for a beer at Van Moll. The beer of the day…
The Beer:
Name: The Chocolate Manifesto – Triple Chocolate Milk Stout
Style: Milk Stout
Producer: Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery
Alcohol content: 10.0%
Bottle size: 0.75 l
Purchased from: Van Moll in Eindhoven
The Chocolate Manifesto – Triple Chocolate Milk Stout by Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery. Not enough body, and no real beer flavor to speak of. No hop bitter. Chocolatey, but more chocolate powder tasting. I’m disappointed.
Commercial Description (Untappd):
Are three kinds of chocolate overkill in this sweet stout? Heck no. Not with 10% abv cupping all that rich cacao in it’s beautiful warmth. The magic number is 3. Lactose sweetness gives The Manifesto the heavenly body of a Milk Stout and the indulgence we crave in chocolate. The Chocolate Manifesto creates one of those rare “exbeeriences” of decadence and transcendence.
