This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 22: January 22, 2015
Diary entry:
Today was just one of those days where no news is good news…
One more day until weekend. Hopefully tomorrow is less than a 12 hour day in the office so I can hit the gym and get home in time to relax a little.
The Beer:
Name: Croy Dubbel
Style: Belgian Dubbel
Producer: Brouwerij Croy
Alcohol content: 7.5%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Late birthday present from my colleague Mike…not the one who bought me the gift box, but another one.
Croy Dubbel is breweed at Kasteel Croy in Aarle-Rixtel in the Netherlands, around 30km from my home. This was brought to me by a work colleague who lives nearby to the brewery. The beer poured a deep reddish brown color. Smell of fruit and toffee, found in the taste as well. Slightly sweet, not overly like many Dubbels.
