This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 324: November 20, 2015
Diary entry:
Thank God it’s Friday.
But this is not a Friday I’m too thrilled with.
Got a nice early start for work today, but some kind of accident or road work caused a delay on the highway, so I decided to cut through town. And I was early enough that there was very little traffic on the roads as I cut through town, so I was making great time!
Until I got to the last light before my office, when the cars in front of me all stopped, and my brakes locked up on the cold, slick road and I slid into the car in front of me. Who then decided to slam into me in reverse afterwards!
It was over an hour of waiting for the police, etc. and I only just barely made it to my meeting in time. What a lovely start to the day!
At least the car is still perfectly driveable, and I have an appointment already for the repairs. No injuries.
Decent meetings at work, so I planned to have a quick dinner at home and then go into town for a beer.
And then I woke up on the couch to move to bed.
Darn you Jet Lag!!!
Luckily I had my official Beer of the Day with dinner before I fell asleep…
The Beer:
Name: Cuvee Mam’zelle
Style: Belgian Blonde Dorée
Producer: Brouwerij De Leite
Alcohol content: 8.5%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: De Caigny bottleshop in Essen, Belgium
Cuvee Mam’zelle by Brouwerij de Leite. Sour and funky! I was sad this was sold out on our brewery visit in September. Luckily I had a bottle at home. Lovely sour!
