This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 107: April 17, 2015
Diary entry:
Thank God It’s Friday!
What a week! So glad it’s over!
Or is it…
Thought I had a light schedule today, but turned out not to be the case. I was literally kept hopping all the way up until leaving the office at 5PM. And I had to leave at 5, as I needed to catch the train to Amsterdam to System of a Down live in concert! I missed them the last time they were in the area, and I wasn’t going to do so again this time! Found out about the concert on Monday, and managed to find a ticket for sale online that same day.
And the show?
Awesome!
My seats were pretty high up, but they were in the upper section closest to the band, so I did have a decent enough view.
And a bit of a contact high. I guess that’s a side-effect of going to an indoors concert in Amsterdam and sitting up near the ceiling…
The Beer:

Style: Imperial / Double IPA

Double Joker Double IPA by Williams Bros Brewing Company. Hoppy, but a bit malty as well. Not my favorite IPA. Decent, but not one I’d choose again unless in a real pinch.
Commercial Description:
Devilishly Hoppy. Double Joker is a big, bold Scottish style double IPA: generously hopped, devilishly flavoursome.
