This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 319: November 15, 2015
Diary entry:
As much as I would have loved to sleep in this morning, that was rendered impossible by A) Jet Lag and B) needing to drive Erin back to Schiphol this morning for her flight to Los Angeles.
It was extremely windy today, but we managed to make the drive up to Amsterdam with no problems, though I did almost lose my hat while walking her into the terminal.
Made it back home in time for a short nap, and then off to Eindhoven for a tasting of beers from Brouwerij Kees at Van Moll.
Which wiped me out!
I think I was sound asleep back home by 9PM.
Beer + Jet Lag, not the best combination for a late night.
The Beer:
Name: Double Rye IPA
Style: Double IPA
Producer: Brouwerij Kees
Alcohol content: 8.5%
Bottle size: 0.15 l draft
Purchased from: Van Moll, Eindhoven
Double Rye IPA by Brouwerij Kees. Perhaps my favorite from the tasting at Van Moll today. A little extra natural sweetness. But the the hops come in, full force. I thought I’d not like this one. But I do! Very well balanced hops, malt, and sweet.
