From December 1 through December 24, I’m going to try to use a Christmas Beer for each day of Advent as part of my #ottadvent15 2015 Advent Calendar. Follow along with the tag ottadvent15.
Day 344: December 10, 2015
Diary entry:
Started a four day weekend for my birthday today, with plans to visit a few Christmas Markets with a colleague from work.
But while packing, I noticed I misplaced my travel power cord for my laptop, so had to run in to the office to pick up a spare, and attended a meeting as well since I was there at the time it was scheduled for.
We got on the road for Hamburg at 10:30 in the morning, and made it there at quite a decent hour. Not much traffic except for a little spot outside Bremen.
We made a first run to the markets nearby out hotel, near the train station, to do some shopping, and then made the return run in to explore the markets further.
Hamburg is a lively city, with quite a few markets. The one in the main Rathaus square was nice, while the one along the harbor was really cool. Then there’s the St. Pauli market, which was also quite entertaining! Interestingly enough, it was at the St. Pauli market that I ran into a number of representatives of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and had a nice chat. Definitely worth a visit!
