Day 153: June 2, 2015
Diary entry:
Had to run up to Amsterdam this morning to get a document notarized at the US Consulate. 9:15 appointment, so knew I’d need to get a decently early start. I left Boxtel at 7AM. Made it just in time, almost 9:15 exactly. Over 2 hours driving to get there, WAY more than usual. Not sure what was causing the traffic backlogs, but it was pretty consistent almost the entire distance.
The notarization went smoothly, though I am constantly amazed by how many people are sent out of the embassy during the security check for having electronic devices, or other prohibited goods in their bags. I saw one guy who had to wait an extra hour to go in because he had an electronic device he had to find a temporary home for.
Erin and I decided on a spur of the moment journey to Gouda on the way home. Hoped to buy some cheese and siroopwafels.
Mission Accomplished!
Also managed to do some sightseeing, eat a nice lunch at Cafe Central in the Markt square, and even pick up a selection of Dutch beers from the local bottle shop.
Made it back home in time for our appointment with an electrician and a conference call for work before sitting back and relaxing the rest of the evening.
