This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 210: July 29, 2015
Diary entry:
Felt a little better today after a decent sleep last night. 😀
A good thing, since I’m now officially getting into the new, third leg of the program as well. A whole morning session trying to catch up as well as contribute, not always the easiest to accomplish. Glad I was on my game. I feel like they’re already taking me in, so progress is being made. This one took me a lot of convincing to get my organization included in, so I want to make sure we earn our place there.
All-in-all, a pretty good day!
The Beer:
Name: Exploded Double IPA
Style: Double IPA
Producer: Hilldevils
Alcohol content: 9.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Den Caigny in Essen, Belgium
Exploded Double IPA by Hilldevils. Another nice Hilldevils IPA. Bitter, 71 EBUs, a little fruity and floral. Floral aroma as well.
Hilldevils is a relatively new brewery here in the Netherlands, from Wouwse Plantage, which is not too far from where I live in Boxtel, and very close to De Caigny in Essen, Belgium, where I picked this beer up. So far, I’ve been pretty impressed with the beers I’ve picked up from them.
This beer is made with Maris otter, Munich, Cara, and Pilsmout malts, Galaxy, Citra, and Cascade hops, and is dry hopped with Galaxy and Cascade. BRY 97 yeast.
