This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 115: April 25, 2015
Diary entry:
Vacation has begun!
Today was prep day for the road trip we’re about to embark on. Not quite as many countries as our crazy 2013 road trip but distance-wise should be about the same!
Tomorrow we leave the Netherlands, and head down through Belgium to Beaune, France. Not expecting much to be open, but we want to drive through the small villages and scope our some pretty vinyard views. I’m especially hopeful to be able to catch a glimpse of the famous Domaine Romanee-Conti vineyard. Either Monday or Tuesday we’ll head over to Andorra for a night, then down to Lloret de Mar on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Wednesday night I’m extremely excited to be heading up to Girona for dinner at one of the best restaurants in the world, El Celler de Can Roca!
Thursday through Saturday is the TBEX Conference in Lloret de Mar, where Erin and I will be speaking about how to incorporate beer and wine into your travel blog. Sunday I’m paying a visit to the Birrasana beer festival in Blanes, and then Monday-Wednesday we have a trip to the La Selva region of Costa Brava.
The next 10 days or so we’re going to be finishing a grand circle, heading to Madrid, Porto, San Sebastian, Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Normandy, Paris and then back to home.
Should be a grand adventure!
