This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 82: March 23, 2015
Diary entry:
Quiet day at work today. I finished most of my deadlines last week, so today was peaceful, answering any questions for the people who need to finish their work this week. Tomorrow my agenda picks back up again. Which is good. I like being busy.
The Beer:
Name: Frisse Lentebok
Style: Maibock/Helles Bock
Producer: Koninklijke Grolsch
Alcohol content: 7.0%
Bottle size: 0.5l
Purchased from: Albert Heijn in Boxtel
Grolsch Frisse Lente Bok, a pickup from the local grocery. Sweet aroma, and a bitter flavor. But not quite the type of hoppy bitter I prefer. Seems more geared towards the drinkers of regular day-to-day pilsners, which I guess they have to do since that’s Grolsch’s bread and butter.
Commercial Description: Fresh Lentebok with the aroma of fresh citrus, reminiscent of spring. This beautiful golden beer is a feast for the eyes. The slightly sweet taste is in balance with the flavor, nice and fresh with spicy tones. This spring beer is fine to drink in the summer, if you enjoy a delicious beer out of the long evenings.
