This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 144: May 24, 2015
Diary entry:
A bit more of the same today.
Slept in with no alarm. Cooked up a nice breakfast.
Watched some TV and movies. Enjoyed the weather.
Pretty much only left the house to run to the grocery to pick up some ingredients for dinner.
Taco night!
Made some homemade guacamole. Cooked up our own tortilla chips.
A little panic searching for a missing memory card from our trip, but found it in the end, so all is good.
The Beer:
Name: Ginger Grouse
Style: Ginger Beer
Producer: The Famous Grouse
Alcohol content: 4.0%
Bottle size: 0.5l
Purchased from: Sainsbury’s Greenwich in Greenwich, London, England
This was a pickup from London when we were there for WTM in November. We purchased a number of beers then, but this one we didn’t get a chance to drink, and it’s been sitting here for the past six months, waiting for the right moment. Today was the day!
Very gingery. Like ginger ale soda, but with 4% Abv.
Commercial Description:
Embark on a taste adventure of sharp zings, citrus and warming spices. A refreshing, zingy alcoholic ginger beer with a splash of the Famous grouse whisky will quench your thirst and ignite your taste buds. Just pour over ice and add a wedge of fresh lime.
