This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 11: January 11, 2015
Diary entry:
As I said yesterday: Sometimes, it’s good to just take it easy. Quiet morning, doing a whole lot of nothing.
Broke down and went to the gym again for the first time since Wednesday. Need to do this more often. Especially if I’m going to keep up the beer-a-day challenge.
Preparing to watch the NFL playoffs tonight. Not sure where…but I’ll find somewhere. Probably the Irish pub in Eindhoven. No craft beer (unless they’ve changed), but they do show the games…
The Beer:
Name: Gustafs Finger
Style: Strong Bitter
Producer: Dugges Ale- & Porterbryggeri AB
Alcohol content: 5.8%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel, Ghent, Belgium
Gustafs Finger is another part of the pick-up of beers from my early January roadtrip to Ghent. Poured without much head, but had decent carbonation. An enjoyable Strong Bitter. Smells a little sweet. On tasting, minimal sweetness, some bitter, with a sour finish. Pretty good!
