This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
From December 1 through December 24, I’m going to try to use a Christmas Beer for each day of Advent as part of my #ottadvent15 2015 Advent Calendar. Follow along with the tag ottadvent15.
Day 335: December 1, 2015
Diary entry:
We’ve finally hit December. The final month of the 2015 Beer-A-Day Challenge diary!
And only a few weeks to go before the holiday break at work. Even though I did take some vacation, I am really looking forward to the break.
But first, some workshops today preparing for the presentation of the last few weeks of work, and then a few other meetings and sessions for some of the other projects.
Things are progressing well, and we’ll be ready for the next phases in 2016.
The Beer:
Name: Herforder Weihnacht
Style: Märzen
Producer: Herforder Brauerei
Alcohol content: 5.8%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Christmas Market in Hamelin, Germany
Tonight I start on the first beer of my 2016 Beer Advent Calendar.
Herforder Weihnacht by Herforder Brauerei. I picked this one up at the Hamelin Christmas Market last weekend. I bought a bottle for takeaway, since I had to continue driving on to Hannover afterwards. This is a decent Christmas beer. Deep red color, with a little sweetness and a touch of bitterness. Some malt flavors. This one was actually pretty good.

I feel like I’m on the side of the road, cheering a runner heading for the finish line. You can do it!
Thanks! I have enough new beers at home to last me through the rest, and no plans to travel places where finding a new beer would be an issue. More concerning will be ensuring I can get a new Christmas beer every day through the 24th. Need to make a run to a Belgian and a German beer store this weekend.
