This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 237: August 25, 2015
Diary entry:
Ok, two days in a row…
Got to work around 7:15 today, and again, I didn’t wind up leaving until almost 8:00PM! Finished consolidating the feedback on the task I helped organize a few weeks back, as well as a constant stream of other meetings on the main project and project #3. Along with setting up a meeting for next week on project #4, I guess I touched all the bases today.
The Beer:
Name: Hop Doom
Style: Imperial IPA
Producer: Naparbier
Alcohol content: 11.5%
Bottle size: 0.5l
Purchased from: De Caigny in Essen, Belgium
Hop Doom by Naparbier. An Imperial IPA from Spain. Holy Hops! A little malty sweetness too, but then there’s the hops again! And again! Quite a delightful Imperial IPA. I’m becoming more and more impressed with some of the beers from Spain. Definitely some excellent breweries popping up.
Commercial Description:
Aromatic explosion of hops and mango, citrus and pine. In flavor, still dominate the fruit resinous hops and some nuance, ending in a bitter and protracted appears strong. High fermentation. MALTS: Maris Otter, Crystal 60. HOPS: Simcoe, Centennial, Columbus, Chinook, Cascade. 300 IBUs.
