This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
From December 1 through December 24, I’m going to try to use a Christmas Beer for each day of Advent as part of my #ottadvent15 2015 Advent Calendar. Follow along with the tag ottadvent15.
Day 355: December 21, 2015
Diary entry:
I’m still at work this week, at least for the start of the week. Not a whole lot going on, but taking the opportunity to catch up on the last document reviews in my queue, and be ready to support in case of any issues for the year-end close. I’ll take a few days off later in the week and next week…
I did have an offsite meeting in the afternoon up in Den Haag, which was rather easy to get to today. And made a stop by the Fiddler afterwards to try their local brews.
The drive home left a bit to be desired…apparently no one told everyone in The Hague that they’re supposed to be on holiday this week. Still quite a lot of traffic getting out of town. Coupled with the high winds and the rain, made for an interesting drive home.
The Beer:
Name: Hoppy Christmas
Style: American IPA
Producer: BrewDog
Alcohol content: 7.2%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: De Caigny bottle shop in Essen Belgium
Hoppy Christmas by BrewDog. Hoppy (single hop – Simcoe) aroma and flavors. Some maltiness. But very hoppy bitterness (70IBU). 7.2% ABV. A very welcome change from all the sweet Christmas beers from the past weeks.
