This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 388: January 23, 2016
Diary entry:
Took it easy today, catching up on some blog posts, trying to get caught up before flying out to the US next week.
Plus tomorrow I’ll be attending a couple of beer events, so don’t want to overdo it today and be unable to enjoy myself tomorrow.
Managed to get quite a lot done, including a lot of photo editing, so happy with that result.
And a good night’s sleep also helps.
The Beer:
Name: Hr. Frederiksen
Style: Imperial Stout
Producer: Amager Bryghus
Alcohol content: 10.5%
Bottle size: 0.5 l
Purchased from: De Caigny in Essen, Belgium
Hr. Frederiksen by Amager Bryghus of Kastrup, Denmark, a suburb of Copenhagen. Batch 833. Pours a pitch black color, with a little head. Deep, cocoa aroma. This beer possesses dark bitter flavors, tending towards a little burnt. The flavor are even deeper than the aroma. Full body, not watery at all. Eight different roasted malts and American Centennial hops give the body and the bitterness.
