This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary.  Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.

Day 287: October 14, 2015

Diary entry:

I didn’t have a great night’s sleep last night, waking at 4:30 AM and not being able to really fall back asleep afterwards. I did manage to stay in bed though until my normal wake-up time though. I just wasn’t totally rested for the whole day.

And I had a full-day offsite workshop for Project 1 today; an integration session to bring us towards the end of the current phase of the project. I must admit, I was very pleased with how much things have progressed in the past few months.

A quick team drink after the session, and then some grocery shopping before preparing for #TRAVEX and #FoodTravelChat tonight.

The Beer:

IJwit by Brouwerij ‘t IJ

Name: IJwit

Style: Witbier

Producer: Brouwerij ‘t IJ

Alcohol content: 6.5%

Bottle size: 0.33 l

Purchased from: Abdijbar at NH Koningshof conferencehotel in Veldhoven, the Netherlands

Ijwit by Brouwerij ‘t Ij. Summer may be over, but still time for a witbier. Fruity, with a decent bitter undertone. A very decent witbier.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this beer as an option at the bar of the conference center where my offsite meeting was held today. We had a group drink after our 8:30AM – 6:00PM workshop, and I fully expected to just have a basic pilsner, assuming there would not be any new beers for me to check-in on and used for the beer of the day. They do always have a few different beers available, and this one is a new addition from the last time I was there.
