This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 34: February 3, 2015
Diary entry:
Wait. Was today Tuesday?
The day pretty much flew by. A long demonstration in the morning followed by a few meetings to round up the afternoon. By the time I made it back to my desk, it was about time to start heading out.
Made it to the gym, since I missed last night. And going to bed early. I deserve that!
The Beer:
Name: Jaapie
Style: Imperial / Double Red Ale
Producer: Kaapse Brouwers
Alcohol content: 9.4%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent.
Jaapie Imperial Red Ale by Kaapse Brouwers of Rotterdam. Poured a rich mahogany in color, with a little bit of sediment / haze. A fruity, malty aroma. A medium bitterness adds an extra level to the aromas. Not sure I’ve had a red like this before!
