This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary.  Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.

Day 387: January 22, 2016

Diary entry:

Today was scheduled for an off-site team meeting the entire day. Unfortunately, I did have to break into the team meeting twice for conference calls for topics that need to be resolved by Tuesday’s meeting, and somehow I ever wound up with an action item. So rather than going home, to the gym, or to Van Moll to join John and the others after the team meeting, I had to run back to the campus to talk to a few people and send back a response on my part of the open actions.

But the result here was an invite to dinner with my friend Dave and his girlfriend, which we had at Ilios, a Greek restaurant in Eindhoven I haven’t been to in far too long.

We met some friends of Dave’s at a bar in the market square, and then tried to move off to one of the beer bars in the center area. We figured that even though it was Friday night, it’s the Friday before Carnival, so everyone would be home resting and saving money for next weekend.

We were wrong!

Both the Drinker’s Pub and Van Moll were packed. We did manage to find a corner De Baron for a beer or two before I had to catch the train back home.

I shared one bottle with Dave, the Ch’ti De Noël Dorée by Brasserie Castelain – A 7.5% Belgian Strong Pale Ale which I found to be a bit sweet. Some bitter, and spices too. But again finishes sweet.

So I picked a more local beer from ‘s-Hertogenbosch for my beer of the night…
