This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 55: February 24, 2015
Diary entry:
Last day of work before my trip. A long work session all day, 9 til 5. Quite a good session though, with some good results. I wish all meetings went as well as this one.
Then came my most favorite part of any trip. Packing! I do love packing. It ranks right up there with a root canal or a kidney stone. Well, ok, I’ve never had either of those, but I imagine they’re about as much fun as packing. The only good thing about packing is knowing that it means you’re about to leave on a trip.
The Beer:
Name: Kersepit
Style: Kriek Fruit Beer
Producer: Kasparus Bierbrouwerij
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Part of the birthday 12-pack I received back in December
The last of the beers from my birthday 12-pack. Kersepit by Kasparus Bierbrouwerij. A cherry beer, kersenbier, I don’e believe a kriek lambic. 5% ABV. Poured a nice red, similar to some of the krieks from Brussels. A semi-decent sour base. The fruit seems to be more of a syrup than real fruit to me, but not overly sweet. Still very drinkable.
