This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 377: January 12, 2016
Diary entry:
A very early morning today, with a special session of an architecture team that I’m a part of. Some big decisions need to be made, and we need to ensure everyone is up to speed on the details of the options. The downside, I think this is the fifth time I’ve seen this presentation now…and I keep finding new questions every time! I fear how long it will take everyone else to fully grasp it.
But had a decent gap of meetings in the afternoon, so I did have a chance to get myself caught back up after last week’s workshops. Always good to be back on track. Would hate to fall behind this early in the year.
The Beer:
Name: La Grelotte
Style: Winter Warmer
Producer: Brasserie Grain d’Orge
Alcohol content: 9.0%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Bierhandel Willems & Zoon in Grobbendonk, Belgium
La Grelotte by Brasserie Grain d’Orge. Don’t drink too cold. Some anise and herbals. Slightly sweet. You taste the 9% alcohol in this one. Made from four different malts to give it a dark color and exceptional roundness. Specially chosen hops give a consistent and fragrant flavor. And a selection of spices for the aroma and a memory of Christmas.
