This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 383: January 18, 2016
Diary entry:
Back to work Monday blues, and an extremely full agenda.
Mondays are turning into a rough day, as it seems that the demand for meetings is coming in on all sides, which unfortunately includes all sides of the campus, so a lot of back and forth between buildings.
Hopefully that will ease up as the meetings scheduled last year ease up and I can better schedule the new meetings to keep myself more in a single building, or a single campus at least, per day.
The Beer:
Name: La Vieille Salme
Style: Belgian Tripel
Producer: Brasserie Detrembleur
Alcohol content: 8.3%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Bierhandel Willems & Zoon in Grobbendonk, Belgium
La Vieille Salme by Brasserie Detrembleur of Vielsalm, in the Luxembourg region of Belgium. 8.3% ABV, 11 IBU, and 34 EBC. Beautiful golden color, with a clean, white head. Fruity bitterness in the aroma. The flavor brings a nice bitterness — this one tastes a like it packs a lot more than the 11 IBU. Decent Tripel flavors as well, with some fruitiness.
