This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 362: December 28, 2015
Diary entry:
We’re around the last turn, and into the home stretch. The final week of 2015!
Four more days to go!
Went into the office for the morning to work on a presentation that needs to be given very early in 2016, but wasn’t able to finish yet. Had an open question to the US office, so hopefully I can finish it up tomorrow.
Went to the gym after I finished and had a much needed workout, and then back to Boxtel where I managed a much-needed haircut as well.
Finished off on a terras in town for a beer, then back home for some dinner and my pre-selected beer of the day.
The Beer:
Name: l’Ensemble (2014)
Style: American IPA
Producer: Brouwerij De Dochter van de Korenaar
Alcohol content: 13%
Bottle size: 0.5 l
Purchased from: De Caigny Dranken bottle shop in Essen, Belgium
L’Ensemble (2014) by Brouwerij De Dochter van de Korenaar. A 13% superior a all-malt barley wine. Beautiful malty alcohol aroma. Sticky sweet rich flavor. Caramel towards butterscotch. Quite delicious. You don’t feel the 13% much in this one.
I’d actually been holding this bottle since the first week of 2015, so wanted to make sure I had a chance to include it this year. Very glad I did!
