This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 89: March 30, 2015
Diary entry:
Back to work, and most fun day of the month for me. Period End Close. Always wind up staying late to help ensure it all runs smoothly. This month I managed to get out of the office just before 9 PM. All those thoughts of going to the gym, and then grocery shopping?
Well, maybe tomorrow.
The Beer:
Name: Lentebock
Style: Maibock / Helles Bock
Producer: Gulpener Bierbrouwerij
Alcohol content: 6.5%
Bottle size: 0.3 l
Purchased from: Albert Heijn in Boxtel, Netherlands
Bitter, with some fruity spiciness underneath. Nothing overly special, but not bad. A drinkable beer.
Commercial Description: Fresh and slightly sweet, like spring itself. Celebrate the first rays of sun with this “voorjaarsbier”. Discover the soft sweet malt flavor and hints of spring flowers, which lets the Gulpener Lentebock come to to full bloom. The playful combination of flavor components and a long, hoppy aftertaste, carry you. Let you dream. Pure pleasure until well after the sun has gone down.
