This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 209: July 28, 2015
Diary entry:
I did not sleep well at all last night. One of my worst night’s sleep ever I think. Some stress from the projects may be starting to catch up with me.
This translated into a bit of a long day at work, as I was pretty tired for much of the day. The morning was ok, but this especially hit during an afternoon-long integration workshop on Project #2. I suppose luckily for me, we had more people there than the room could handle, so I gave up my seat and stood for the last two hours, which helped keep me alert.
I cracked open a Troeg’s Mad Elf to be my beer of the night tonight, but then found that I had already had it, so I couldn’t use it. So had to go for a second beer for the official beer of the night. That’ll help with a good night’s sleep tonight 😀
The Beer:
Name: Lichte Tongval
Style: Belgian Style Saison
Producer: Tongval
Alcohol content: 5.4%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: Den Gouwen Aar in Gouda, Netherlands
Lichte Tongval by Tongval. A Belgian-style Saison brewed for Tongval at ‘t Hofbrouwerijke in Belgium. This beer comes with a nice funky aroma and a dry, bitter, spicy flavor. A very enjoyable saison.
Tongval is a unique beer label from Dutch foodies. The brewers – Minco Eggersman, Jedi Noordegraaf and Onno Groeneveld – break new ground in search of new recipes, unique combinations and unusual stories. They believe that drinking (especially) beer is more than just quenching your thirst.
