This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 151: May 31, 2015
Diary entry:
Had a lot of plans for today. It was intended to visit the Beyerd Bierfestival in Breda, but it turned out to be pouring rain almost the entire day.
Took the opportunity instead to finish catching up on blog work and some much needed sleep, especially after being up working until almost 3AM.
Did manage to have a decent dinner within Boxtel at a local steakhouse at least.
Need to say good bye to Dylan tonight, as tomorrow I need to be back at work in the morning and will be in the office until around his flight time.
The Beer:
Name: Liefmans Oud Bruin
Style: Flanders Oud Bruin
Producer: Brouwerij Liefmans
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.25l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent, Belgium
Liefmans Oud Bruin by Brouwerij Liefmans offers the same sour ale base flavor as some of my favorites from Liefmans. This one just seems slightly more watery in the finish.
Commercial Description:
Liefmans Oud Bruin is a Flemish Brown Ale with a sweet and sour taste. It’s typical flavors come from the mixed fermentation and a long maturation (4 to 8 months). Contains barley malt.
