This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. Day 102: April 12, 2015
Diary entry:
Truly a do-nothing weekend day today. I had some work to do for the day job, so I took care of that while relaxing on the couch and watching some movies.
I don’t think there was anything that could have gotten me moving from here today, not after the weekend that was up to now 🙂
The Beer:
Name: Maisel & Friends Pale Ale
Style: American Pale Ale
Producer: Brauerei Gebr. Maisel
Alcohol content: 5.2%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: EDEKA in Kleve, Germany
Pale Ale from Maisel & Friends. A fine pale ale, only 32 IBUs but you can still get some bitterness. A bit fruity, but not sweet. Well done.
Commercial Description:
Our Maisel & Friends Pale Ale is a complex and at the same time super drinkable beer that was brewed in the style of an American Pale Ale.
It is therefore bright golden yellow, fresh and fruity taste with a slight citrus note, caramel malt profile and of course hops without end!
Hercules as a basis hop
A true hero among the bitter hops. It is added in cooking and is mainly responsible for the pleasant bitterness. The four aroma hops are “cold stuffed” and ensure the incomparably fresh and fruity taste of our Pale Ales.
Aroma hops
Amarillo: aromas of peach, grapefruit, apricot and melon Chinook: aromas of elderflower, lychee and red berries Citra: citrus notes Simcoe: aromas of passion fruit, mango and papaya
