This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
From December 1 through December 24, I’m going to try to use a Christmas Beer for each day of Advent as part of my #ottadvent15 2015 Advent Calendar. Follow along with the tag ottadvent15.
Day 337: December 3, 2015
Diary entry:
I was a little bit exhausted last night — I even wound up sleeping through the alarms I had set for the #TRAVEX and #foodtravelchat Twitter chats 🙁 Ok, I admit, I did wake up for both alarms, but just turned them off and closed my eyes again. I was just too tired!
But I was surprisingly well rested for a Thursday today.
Had an interesting day of meetings today. A good mix of projects. In fact, every meeting I had today was for a different project. My basic takeaway…I’m involved in too many projects! But that’s what comes with the territory.
One project is winding down for the year, so we had a group drink after work, and then I ran off to home for dinner and a chance to rest up some more. One more day to go this week!
The Beer:
Name: Noël De Silenrieux
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Producer: Brasserie De Silenrieux
Alcohol content: 9.0%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Bierparadijs bottle shop in Meer, Belgium
Noël De Silenrieux by Brasserie De Silenrieux. “The Beer that can make you dream.” A little sweet, but rather tasty. Has a nice balance of alcohol and flavor. A little fruity. Reminds me of some of the better dark Trappists. Even like a Rochefort / Westvleteren / St. Bernardus 8.
