This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 251: September 8, 2015
Diary entry:
Bright and early wake-up this morning, an offsite workshop starting at 9AM, but a conference call first at 8, so had to be at the offsite venue extra early to be ready for the call.
An all-morning workshop for the morning hours, which went extremely fast, after which the entire afternoon was a blur of bouncing between meetings and buildings and meetings and buildings.
Luckily I started having network issues at 6:30PM, so I decided to leave early.
Tonight is my fantasy football draft, for a work league I joined before I left the states for the Netherlands back in 2007. Which, unfortunately, means the draft starts at 6PM. Eastern time.
Midnight my time.
Ugh!
And an 8AM first meeting tomorrow as well…
Wish me luck!
The Beer:
Name: Phi
Style: Sour Ale
Producer: Brouwerij Alvinne
Alcohol content: 10.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Caigny in Essen, Belgium
Phi by Brouwerij Alvinne. I must say, I’m a bit disappointed. Some sourness, a little funk. But rather watery overall mouthfeel and not much lasting flavor.
Commercial Description:
Blond sour ale, fermented with Morpheus yeast. This beer is not barrel aged, although it is the base beer for the barrel aged Cuvée Sofie (Cuvée Freddy dedicated to Sofie)
