This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 182: July 1, 2015
Diary entry:
The road trip is over, and today I’m back to work. But just the one day.
Had a full schedule of meetings and a quiet night at home, packing and preparing for my trip to London in the morning.
Looking forward to spending a few days with my sisters and niece, and finally peeling a 25-year-old monkey off my back.
The Beer:
Name: Pilsener
Style: Pilsner
Producer: Albert Heijn with Bavaria Brouwerij
Alcohol content: 5.2%
Bottle size: 0.3l can
Purchased from: Albert Heijn in Boxtel
Didn’t want anything fancy tonight, and with all the work with the packing and trying to get some catch-up done, it was 1AM before I was ready for the beer of the night. So I really kept it simple.
Pilsener by Albert Heijn. Drinkable. Nothing special, but drinkable. And for less than 50-cents a can, can’t really go wrong.
Commercial Description:
AH Pilsener has a bare lager flavor.
Albert Heijn Pilsener was the new name for Brewers Beer, which disappeared in 1998 from the market. Albert Heijn Pilsener is only for sale in the supermarket and is not available in the hospitality industry.
