This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 148: May 28, 2015
Diary entry:
Quite a hectic day today, running back and forth between meetings, especially in the afternoon.
Some good topics discussed, so always good when you feel like you accomplished something as a result of a busy day.
We have a house guest visiting this weekend from London, so had to ensure the house was ready for Dylan’s arrival.
Then a long evening of preparing dinner and chatting.
The Beer:
Name: Préaris Grand Cru 2013 B.A. Bourbon (Makers Mark)
Style: Belgian Quad
Producer: Vliegende Paard Brouwers
Alcohol content: 10.5%
Bottle size: 0.375l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent, Belgium
Préaris Grand Cru 2013 B.A. Bourbon (Makers Mark) by Vliegende Paard Brouwers has a dark, brownish-red color. Poured without much head. Decent levels of the barrel flavor coming through, with hints of the 10/5% but not overbearing. Well balanced overall. Definitely enjoyable.
Commercial Description:
Exlusive brew: Préaris Quadrupel 2013 version aged for 10 months in Bourbon barrels from Makers mark. Limited to 2700 bottles of 375ml.
