This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 309: November 5, 2015
Diary entry:
A more normal start time today in the office, but still a bit on the early side, more to avoid the main commuter crush on the MTR.
Some colleagues came in from Korea to discuss the current project status and planning, as well as to give their feedback on the open issues. A good session, bringing them up to speed, and getting their feedback. Too often we try to do everything on our our own in headquarters and solicit local input too late in the process. I’m hoping to keep that from happening for us as well.
Made a quick stop at The Roundhouse in Soho after work, one of the main craft beer bars in Hong Kong that I was interested in trying out. A decent selection, and their pub food looked and smelled delicious. Wish I had tried some, but had dinner plans for a bit later in the evening.
Which was Korea Barbecue, of all things. But just Erin and I, not the Korean colleagues who had dinner plans of their own.
The Beer:
Name: Shenzhen Pale Ale
Style: American Pale Ale
Producer: BionicBrew
Alcohol content: 5.6%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: The Roundhouse in Soho, Central, Hong Kong
Shenzhen Pale Ale by BionicBrew. Decent. A little malty. Nice bitterness underneath. Pretty good. Saw a lot of these being ordered when I stopped by The Roundhouse taproom tonight, so decided to give one a try as well.
