This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 72: March 13, 2015
Diary entry:
Not as much sleep as I’d have liked last night, so decided to sleep in an extra 30 minutes since my presentations didn’t start until 9. Definitely glad to have that extra sleep.
Really good session at work today, I think the workshop and presentations went very well. Very collaborative and cooperative sessions the whole time. I wish all days went like this.
Managed to head home at a normal hour, and looking forward to the weekend tomorrow…
The Beer:
Name: Special Holiday Ale (2014) by Nøgne Ø
Style: Winter Warmer
Producer: Nøgne Ø in collaboration with Stone Brewing Co. and Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales
Alcohol content: 8.5%
Bottle size: 0.5l
Purchased from: Bottleshop at Brouwerij De Molen
Tonight’s beer of the night is the Special Holiday Ale collaboration between Nøgne Ø of Norway, Stone Brewing Co. of San Diego, and Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales of Dexter, Michigan. Very smooth. Fruity and spicy. A tasty beer!
Commercial Description: Special Holiday Ale was first brewed in San Diego in 2008. Each brew is following the same recipe, including Michigan chestnuts, white sage from southern California and Norwegian juniper berries, but differences in brewing and aging practices produce different beers. Cheers to being different! Skål!
