This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 230: August 18, 2015
Diary entry:
Today I spent most of the day in catch-up sessions, reviewing progress from the past three weeks with people returning from their vacations.
I also was asked at the last minute to present on a few of the changes being proposed in the documents I was working on, as I was the only one who had anything ready to be reviewed yet. Those actually went pretty well, and I heard from a few others that they were happy and impressed with my progress. That’s always nice.
Managed to hit the gym again after work today, and that was also pretty good.
Also, tonight was the first decent evening since Wednesday night, so this was the first night I managed to go out and enjoy the Boxtel Kermis, which was especially busy tonight since the weather was so nice and everyone wanted their chance to experience at least some of the fair.
The Beer:
Name: Speciale Vlo
Style: Belgian Strong Pale Ale
Producer: Brouwerij ‘t IJ
Alcohol content: 7.0%
Bottle size: 0.33l

Speciale Vlo by Brouwerij ‘t Ij. For De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. A hoppy, bitter, Amber ale. Very tasty! This beer won a silver medal at the 2012 Brussels Beer Challenge. They were robbed!
Commercial Description:
A prize-winning beer that we brew specially for De Bierkoning. The fruity, bitter hops and lightly roasted malt complement each other perfectly in this light brown beer. These flavors are accentuated with a little coriander to produce a full aroma of flowers, citrus and a hint of caramel. An irresistible beer that was crowned in the Brussels Beer Challenge with a silver medal in the Herb & Spice category.
