This post is a continuation of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I drank at least one new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. This year I may deviate from the diary format in some posts, hoping to concentrate more on the locations and the breweries I am enjoying. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 391: January 26, 2016
Diary entry:
Felt a little better today after some sleep last night. A good thing, since at least my morning agenda was rather full.
It always seems your busiest days at work are the days just before vacation. Perhaps its because your mind is elsewhere already, or you’re stressing over cleaning your desk before you leave. Or maybe it’s everyone else panicking to get you to give a review in 30 seconds before you go.
Whatever the case, what I thought was going to be an early afternoon wound up running way late, as my inbox had one of those miraculous unchanging number days. No matter how much I took out, the number of messages left remained unchanged.
The Beer:
Name: Stout + Moedig
Style: Stout
Producer: Brouwerij De 7 Deugden
Alcohol content: 7.0%
Bottle size: 0.33 l
Purchased from: Uw Bierspecialist – Noordkade in Veghel, the Netherlands
Stout + Moedig by Brouwerij De 7 Deugden of Amsterdam. 51 EBU / 121 EBC providing a nice dark bitterness. The color of the beer, with the packaging, immediately leads you towards dark fruits. Black cherry, or plum. The translates well, with hints of coffee and dark fruit on the flavor. Pretty good flavor. An enjoyable beer!
