This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. Day 44: February 13, 2015
Diary entry:
Finally got my email back, and my calendar! What a relief!
A few more meetings, but today was basically a ghost town at work. Tomorrow, Carnaval starts, follwed by a week of school holidays, so half of the office was out already to head out on holiday or start their Carnaval celebrations already. At least parking was easy.
Short visit to the gym, quick dinner, and ready for bed, as I’m up early to play tour guide to some Belgian breweries tomorrow. Cantillon, Westvleteren, Struise, and a visit to Brugge are in the cards. Should be a fun day.
May stop out for a quick visit to Carnaval as well…we’ll see
The Beer:
Name: Taras Boulba
Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Producer: Brasserie de la Senne
Alcohol content: 4.5%
Bottle size: 0.33l
Purchased from: De Hopduvel in Ghent
Tonight’s beer of the night is Taras Boulba Extra Hoppy Ale by Brasserie de la Senne of Brussels. A hoppy bitter pale ale. Not too strong, dry and drinkable. This is de la Senne’s Try-out for a new low(er) alcohol beer with a high bitter content.Tastes like it would be a higher alcohol beer, definitely one to keep on the radar!
