This post is a part of the 2015 New Beer Every Day Beer Diary Challenge, #ottbeerdiary. Over the course of 2015, I will be trying a new beer every day. Please read the background in the link above, and enjoy reading about the most recently tasted beers below. If you’d like to join the challenge as well, let me know in the comments below, and be sure to check out Grown-up Travel Guide and his #grownupbeerdiary, where Andy Higgs came up with the diary format in use below. You can catch up on all of our posts as part of the challenge under the tag ottbeerdiary.
Day 300: October 27, 2015
Diary entry:
Travel day today!
Woke up early to finish packing, and then a quick conference call for work.
We then decided to clear out the fridge, making a decent English-style breakfast, and throwing away any remaining scraps since we’ll be gone for 2.5 weeks.
Realizing that I’ll be on a plane until tomorrow morning, also taking the time for a quick beer of the day.
The Beer:
Name: The Karuizawa Asama Meisui Clear
Style: Pilsner
Producer: Karuizawa Brewery
Alcohol content: 5.0%
Bottle size: 0.35 l can
Purchased from: Brought to me from Japan
The Karuizawa Asama Meisui Clear by Karuizawa Brewery. Flying to Japan today. So starting the morning with a Japanese beer, since I’ll be on a plane all night. Light Pilsner. Slight bitter. A little fruity. Decent.
Commercial Description (from the can):
A beer that carefully captures the gifts of nature from Karuizawa’s refreshing water and crisp highland air. The crisp clean breeze of Karuizawa can be felt from this brew made with precious water running beneath Mt. Asama.
